Homemade Vanilla Extract

This year I made homemade vanilla to give as gifts. I had no idea it was so easy to make. I just took "a lot" of vodka and filled the jar with split vanilla beans (I think it was about 2 beans per ounce). A few shakes and 8 weeks later....
