Back to School!

Today I sent a 4th grader & Kindergartner off to school!

Seems like just yesterday
I had a kindergartner and a one year old!

Heidi loved her first day of kindergarten.
In fact, she begged to go back tomorrow!

I remember when Liddy was a kindergartner.....

But now look at her! She's a little lady!

We had some fall pictures taken awhile back, but I just received the CD. The photographer offered short sessions for families, so we tried it out. Although I'm not 100% happy with the family picture, I did get some of the kids.

On Saturday, the National Parks hosted a fee free day for visitors. 

With that extra incentive, we visited the Lincoln Boyhood Home National Memorial.

Liddy received her official Junior Ranger certificate & badge!

After discussions of ear piercing for over a year, Alydia finally make the leap. We decided after a family lunch to check out Claire's Boutique. She just wanted to see the earring selection and scope it out. After hemming & hawing for a quite, she decided to do it. Just a few nervous moments and a tear, she was done! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the event since it was spontaneous. But, here's her photo diary of the ear piercing experience...

Here's a sneak peek at Liddy's Christmas program. You'll probably feel a bit motion sickness after watching my unsteady video, but I was trying to video & hold Heidi at the same time. This was a special segment for Liddy since she played an instrument!

First Day of 1st Grade - Update

First grade was a success! Alydia came home in a happy mood, albeit a bit tired. She made a new friend on the bus, loved eating lunch (chocolate milk is very cool!) and is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This is music to my ears! Time to celebrate!
