Back to School!

Today I sent a 4th grader & Kindergartner off to school!

Seems like just yesterday
I had a kindergartner and a one year old!

Heidi loved her first day of kindergarten.
In fact, she begged to go back tomorrow!

I remember when Liddy was a kindergartner.....

But now look at her! She's a little lady!

Fall Pics

We had some fall pictures taken awhile back, but I just received the CD. The photographer offered short sessions for families, so we tried it out. Although I'm not 100% happy with the family picture, I did get some of the kids.

"Cast Away" Day

We got up early for this big day! Last picture with the cast!
The special removal tool....
Turns out this pediatric cast removal is similar to a can opener
and didn't work! This photo is before he pulled out the saw...

Let me tell you, that saw was scary. She was brave, but occasionally tried to pull away.
Who wouldn't be with him sawing around both sides of your elbow?
After a grueling 10 minutes, it was done and off!
The doctor said she was one the bravest little girls he's seen!
We took a picture to remember, but opted not to keep it.
Apparently we are the minority, but she didn't want it.
Do you blame her?
Still feeling weird and not wanting to straighten it yet.
We are going to wear a temporary splint for a few weeks.

Heidi's Recent Words

Some recent Heidi-isms....

Rastronaut (rhymes with astronaut) = Restaurant

Socker = Sucker

Flipball = Football

Mother's Tines Day = Mother's Day (with some Valentine's influence)

Chicken Barracuda = Chicken Barbeque Pizza

How are all these pictures the same?

If you guessed that Heidi was wearing the same gold shoes in every picture, you were right! In addition to creek stomping, horse riding, geocaching, power washing by dad and formal events, these shoes have also been left out in the rain. Phew! You can imagine they don't look or smell good! But, she still insists on wearing them day after day. In terms of kids' clothes, probably the best return on investment for the $10 I spent on them.  Time to upgrade to a new pair, you think?

Funny-isms

I had to start writing these down to remember all the funny things I hear from Heidi.

Heidi referring to the horn on Ryan's walker, "Look, he has a honker!"
----------------
Heidi standing in the pantry.
Me, "What are you doing?"
Heidi, "I'm the luncher lady"
(That is what she calls the Costco sample ladies. Not sure how that relates to standing in the pantry...)
----------------
"Let's go to the mulch park!" (Playground)
---------------
"Where is my hooker I got from treasuring?"
(A hooker is a Christmas ornament, hence the hook, that she got from geocaching.)
---------------
"Mom, I almost drained!"
(Her raft flipped over in the pool and she went underwater....thus thinking she was going to drown.)

One Tough Cookie

Although Heidi may be a girlie girl, she never slows down for a little blood or bruising. She's one tough cookie. Here's a glimpse into the coming summer....

Happy Potty Training!

Who knew that the #1 motivator to get Heidi potty-trained would be incentive to get a cake?  Jokingly, she said she wanted an underwear cake. She got it!

Heidi and the Styrofoam Snow Storm

I got a package. I was very excited about the package. I was assembling the contents. Heidi was very quiet.... And then I notice that those little chubby 3 year old hands were capable of crumbling big blocks of styrofoam into tiny pieces of snow all over the house.

Looks like someone got hit with a
styrofoam snow storm!
Posing 'cause she thinks she's so cute, even when she's in trouble!

The moving picture

On a small table in the family room I have Heidi's 3 year photo and another of Ryan sitting with Santa. All month, I had to keep rearranging the photos because Heidi's photo would be moved right in front of the Santa photo, blocking it. In frustration, I finally asked who was moving it. Heidi informed me it was her because she didn't want Santa watching her. Smart kid!

From Heidi's Perspective....

Heidi loves my iPhone. She has also mastered most of the icons, camera, videos and games. As I was doing my usual deleting of 100's of photos she's taken, I thought it would be fun to share the views that she captures. I deleted most before I thought of this idea, so I'll add more later.

Voting Day! Notice the no cell phone sign.
Apparently it doesn't apply to 2 year olds taking photos.

Little chubby feet...notice no socks and shoes.
She likes to have to put them on AGAIN
once we get to our destination.

Heidi's New Words

Heidi would like to wish you a Happy Holidays by offering you a "Sucker Cane"!

In addition, she'd love to sing to you the "Bee-i, Bee-i" song to you. 'Cause that's the book for you. :)

Happy Happy Birthday Baby! Heidi Turns Two!

My baby girl turns two tomorrow. Where did this time go? We watched the video of bringing her home from the hospital and I can't believe it. She's changed so much! Being biased as her mom, I have to say she is my smart, charming, adorable and beautiful daughter. God really blessed us by putting her in our lives.

Here's a few photos from today's celebrations...

....And you know its been a good day when the Barbie is striped of her dress and knocked over!

Bath Time with Miss Heidi

First, Heidi insists on climbing in herself...(don't worry she can't quite get it yet!)

Then, she must clean her belly (notice her very boisterous bathmate)...

Heidi's first (different) word

Other than No, Uh-oh & Dada....Heidi's first (or fourth) word is....drum roll please.... "Willow". However she prefers to pronounce it Lilll looow. I guess our dog has made quite the impression on her. Ha!
